This print by artist P. Wagenaar and engraver C. Philips Jacobsz. dates from 1784. The print shows the ritual of the Lord’s Supper being celebrated in front of the choir screen in the Oude Kerk’s nave. Participation in the Lord’s Supper was initially by invitation and only a select elite group was allowed to partake. That is also the case with the figures in this print, as is evident from their attire. Later on the ritual was opened up to everyone.
