Op de prent is te zien hoe er voor het koorhek in het middenschip van de Oude Kerk het ritueel van het avondmaal wordt gevierd. In eerste instantie was deelname aan het avondmaal op uitnodiging en mocht slechts een select elitair groepje deelnemen. Zo ook de figuren op deze prent, te zien aan de kleding. Later werd het ritueel voor iedereen opengesteld."

The print shows the ritual of the Lord’s Supper being celebrated in front of the choir screen in the Oude Kerk’s nave. Participation in the Lord’s Supper was initially by invitation and only a select elite group was allowed to partake. That is also the case with the figures in this print, as is evident from their attire. Later on the ritual was opened up to everyone."
