Silence #37: Lucrecia Dalt
In this edition Lucrecia Dalt used her own voice and the church space as the starting point for a concert in which vocal, acoustic and electronic music melted together. The concert took place in the context of the art installation 'Path' by Antônio Obá. His works were arranged in the nave. With this installation, Obá emphasised the longitudinal axis of the church, which played an important role in medieval liturgy. It runs from the main organ (west) to the High Choir (east), where the altar was located before the Reformation. In the Choir, visitors could find Obá's work 'Iron Garden', which consisted of 2400 bells, an artificial field of flowers. They referred to bells that initiate a religious ritual, but also to the historical function of bells as an alarm signal when danger threatens.
