Marli Huijer (NL, 1955) is Emeritus Professor of Public Philosophy at the Erasmus School of Philosophy, Erasmus University Rotterdam. She is a former Thinker of the Fatherland (2015-2017). Huijer's research focuses on the philosophy of people and culture. She is particularly interested in the question of how people arrive at orderings. How do we order time? How do techniques and devices organise public space? How do we discipline ourselves and each other into behaviour that makes it possible to live together peacefully? Huijer constantly moves back and forth between academic philosophy and public philosophy. |
