Tony Oursler (US, 1957) has been working with digitality and projections since the 1990s. A well-known international figure, his work has been shown at Biennales and exhibitions around the world. His oeuvre is part of collections at MoMA, Musee d'Orsay, Tate, LACMA, Whitney Museum of American Art, and Centre Pompidou, among others.
Oursler's works appear to be animated images in their own psychological space, often communicating directly with the viewer's sense of empathy. These installations are consistently disturbing and fascinating, leading to rave reviews in both so-called popular culture and 'high' culture. |
