Bible
Statenbijbels are Bibles written in Dutch that were commissioned by the States-General. The translation into the vernacular meant that everyone was able to study Holy Scripture independently. A member of the States-General signed an ‘Acte van Consent’, thus guaranteeing that it was an authorized translation. This certificate was signed by J. Plantinus on 12 April 1758 in Amsterdam. The volume was rebound in 1907.
