Inkstand

by C.F. Wakker

This pewter inkstand is in the Church Warden's Chamber where the church’s business affairs were managed. The inkstand has a rectangular form and consists of three components: an inkpot with lid, a holder with sand that could be scattered over smudged drops of ink and a little drawer for pens. The underside is marked with Amsterdam’s coat of arms and the signature 'C.F. Wakker / Amsterdam'. The stand was produced circa 1800.
