Choir Stalls (Fragments)

Volutes, a curl-shaped ornamentation, decorate the ends of these 12 wooden blocks. Before the choir stalls were permanently installed in the chancel, the benches were placed on these blocks. The tops of the volutes are decorated with carved mouldings and a decorative rounded edge, known as a beaded frame.
