Painting of the Oude Kerk with the North Porch and Holy Sepulchre
This painting by Jan Heijens from 1943 captures a view of the Oude Kerk. It shows the north porch and the Holy Sepulchre. Heijens used earthen hues and a rough touch to create this image which almost looks like a snapshot. In the painting one can see two rust-coloured Amsterdammertje bollards, which were installed in this shape and colour throughout Amsterdam from the early nineteenth century.
