Watercolour of the Westend of the Oude Kerk with its Tower

Printmaker, aquarellist, etcher, painter and draughtsman Hermanus Petrus Schouten produced this watercolour that shows the church’s westend and repairtower in 1779. Subsidence in the foundations made it necessary to undertake repairs to the tower. This watercolour shows the restored tower.
