Drawing of the South Aisle with a View to the Baptismal Chapel

This drawing of the interior of the Oude Kerk’s south aisle was made in 1785 by Hermanus Petrus Schouten. The drawing is a reliable representation of the so-called Huiszittenkapel and the Lysbeth Graven Kapel with various funerary hatchments. Schouten worked as a printmaker, aquarellist, etcher, painter and draughtsman who made various depictions of the Oude Kerk.
