Na een uitverkochte avond in maart, keerde Queer Choir Amsterdam op 10 september terug naar de Oude Kerk met de nieuwe performance ‘A Gushing Deluge’. Wederom gebruikte het koor de ruimte van de Oude Kerk om de traditionele betekenis en presentatie van een koor anders vorm te geven en te vervreemden (als in: ‘to queer’). Het koor werd begeleid door cello en presenteerde naast twee oudere nummers ook drie nieuwe composities die in een collectief proces tot stand waren gekomen. De toon en inhoud was zowel lichtvoetig als meer activistisch en serieus. De installatie van Antonio Oba werd in de performance geïntegreerd; zo werd het lied Fruit Chorale rondom het kunstwerk Suspended Children gezongen, en improviseerde het koor met de belletjes van Oba in het hoogkoor. Met ruim 200 bezoekers was ook deze tweede performance ook uitverkocht.\n

Come Closer was een reeks educatieve performanceprogramma's in de Oude Kerk, ontwikkeld in en rond de specifieke artistieke interventies die de ruimte op het. Kunstenaars, muzikanten, onderzoekers en bezoekers verkennen samen een onderbelicht verleden, alternatieve versies van het heden en mogelijke toekomsten. De Come Closers, samengesteld door Radna Rumping, hadden de vorm van intieme avonden, waarbij bezoekers en kunstenaars de sonische ruimte van de Oude Kerk verkennen met dans, performance en diepe luisteroefeningen.\n

After a sold-out evening in March, Queer Choir Amsterdam returned to the Oude Kerk on September 10th with the new performance 'A Gushing Deluge'. Once again, the choir used the space of the Oude Kerk to reshape and alienate (as in: 'to queer') the traditional meaning and presentation of a choir. Accompanied by the cello, the choir presented not only two older songs but also three new compositions created in a collective process. The tone and content was both light-hearted and more activist and serious. Antonio Oba's installation was integrated into the performance. For instance, the song Fruit Chorale was sung around the artwork Suspended Children and the choir improvised with Oba's bells in the High Choir.
