          Brandschilderen is een vorm van glaskunst. In de Middeleeuwen werden de ramen van kerken helemaal of deels voorzien van gebrandschilderd glas wat bij elkaar gehouden werd in loden strips. De Oude Kerk had in totaal 33 glas-in-lood ramen, het merendeel uit de vijftiende eeuw en de zestiende eeuw, vier uit de zeventiende eeuw en een uit de achttiende eeuw.
